Ground-Up Design for Optimal Function
Kinetic Gantry System
Stratum has two kinematic systems. A traditional Voron Style CoreXY, and also an all in one tension and drive system that eliminates 4 entire bearings sets usually needed to route the belt around the stepper drive gear, at the rear of the printer.
Heated Bed Flex Plate Array
Dual 6mm printbed plates help isolate temperatures from the kinematic system, while allowing mounting positions for built in circulation fans that will help heat both the bed and the enclosed print volume.
Davis Kinematic Mount
The custom Davis Kinematic mounting system uses large ball mounts, made originally for RC cars, along with custom printed parts. Compared to other kinematic coupling methods like "sphere on rails", the contact area is immense, and allows for lower material requirements, such as raw FDM parts, and PTFE tubes to be used. I.E. you can now assemble a functional kinematic coupling yourself, cheaply, with mostly printed parts, and no expensive linear rails.

Calibration & Commissioning
Begin with precise assembly and squaring of the aluminum extrusion frame, ensuring a rigid and accurate foundation for all subsequent components.
Install linear guide rails, lead screws, and stepper motors for X, Y, and Z axes. Verify smooth movement and proper alignment across the entire build volume.
Perform initial power-up, firmware flashing, motion tests, and print calibration. Fine-tune settings for optimal performance and part accuracy.
Route and connect all wiring harnesses, sensors, and control board components. Follow the detailed schematic for a clean, reliable electronic system.
